“Then I heard a loud voice in heaven say: “Now have salvation and power come, and the kingdom of our God and the authority of his Anointed. For the accuser of our brothers is cast out, who accuses them before our God day and night.” The Apocalypse (Revelation) 12:10
Everyone can sense it, there is something particularly strange about the COVID virus itself, but also the way government authorities and American public are reacting to it. It’s not just a normal virus/pandemic situation like humanity has experienced numerous times in the past, on a much worse scale. Something else is going on here. What is becoming quite clear is that The Virus, and the reaction to it, is a spiritual attack by Satan designed to destroy charity and souls. I am going to make a feeble attempt to explain why.
I believe the explanation for this gut feeling so many are experiencing is because Satan has entrapped a spiritually weak and vulnerable world into actively and promoting evil, and our primary natural law inclination to seek the good, and avoid evil, is being compromised. Even die-hard atheists, who are just as subject to the natural law as everyone else, sense something very different about this “crisis”.
“Satan” is the Hebrew word for “accuser.” An accuser makes allegations and forces the person accused to defend himself. It’s not unlike a prosecutor who lodges a criminal charge. The defendant is forced to face the prosecutor and deny the allegation or plead guilty and try to cut a deal. That’s what the devil is doing right now to good, well-meaning average citizens, just trying to maintain a sense of normalcy and live their lives in this atmosphere of chaos.
Satan is accusing average American citizens, who are generally pleasant and loving towards friends and neighbors, as being uncharitable and bad people for not complying with the newest or favored “remedy” to The Virus concocted by the world’s elite globalist corporations, philanthropists, and government leaders. He is accusing you and me of not going along with the “Great Reset”.
But to make matters worse, the devil is also doing something even more sinister to trick kind-hearted, well-meaning people into thinking they are bad people for not going along with the globalist (communistic) regime. He is forcing us into a catch-22 trap, which attempts to steer us away from acting in a truly loving and charitable way towards our family, friends and strangers. This is how I know The Virus and the reaction to it is from the devil himself. Let me explain because this is important.
To keep the legal analogy going, every good trial lawyer knows that when you prepare to cross examine a hostile witness (a witness favorable to the other side in a legal dispute), you set up the series of questions for the witness in a carefully designed order with the goal of trapping the witness into admitting a fact that helps your case or otherwise into taking an inconsistent position. In other words, the lawyer wants to force the witness into either helping the examining lawyer’s case or looking like a liar (or a bad person).
Satan, the ultimate accuser who is more powerful and intelligent than any trial attorney, is trying to do the same thing to us right now. The devil’s goal is to destroy love, and by doing so, destroy souls and drag people to hell. In order to accomplish that goal, he has introduced a virus, through human agents, who then tell the world that it is an extremely dangerous virus that will kill millions, especially the most vulnerable. Then, again through “experts,” solutions to the dangerous killer virus are introduced such as mask wearing, social distancing, economic shutdowns and forced vaccinations. Now the stage is set.
The problem with the proposed remedies, which are enforced through government authority or social public shaming techniques, is that they cause great harm and lead to destruction. They separate people from their families, they depersonalize the individual, compromise privacy rights, isolate vulnerable children from their friends, they financially destroy families and even economies on a worldwide scale. They require people to abandon their loved ones in nursing homes and hospitals, while stoking depression, fear, and anger on a mass scale. All of this, we are told, is necessary in order to combat the so-called deadly virus.
Do you see what is happening here? We are put in the catch-22 of either accepting the evil and destruction that comes with the remedies to the virus or being accused of wanting to kill other people, including the most vulnerable. Either way, we become accomplices to the devil’s plan of destroying charity towards others and promoting fear and destruction.
Let’s consider a brief example of this conundrum that has been forced on real people every day. Joe America has an elderly, sickly mother in a nursing home, who is not expected to live more than a couple weeks. COVID mandates prohibit Joe from visiting and being at the bedside of his mother in the final weeks of life, as he most certainly would do under normal circumstances. Joe’s mother becomes depressed, angry and gives up on life. Now Joe’s mother dies alone, in a room staffed by strangers wearing a mask.
What just happened in this example? The devil seemingly put Joe in a no-win situation. If Joe went to visit his mother, he would be accused of threatening and potentially killing his own mother along with the rest of the nursing home patients and staff. At the same time, if he dutifully followed the COVID restrictions, Joe was unable to tend to his dying mother to alleviate her suffering and loneliness. If Joe attends to his mother’s needs, he is accused of endangering and potentially killing others—if he does not go, the love and charity that he would have provided the mother was blocked. In fact, no good came of the situation—only anger, depression and resentment.
In this example, Joe is the bad guy either way. And if Joe decided not to see his mother, acts of love, charity and mercy that otherwise would have occurred did not happen. How does Satan not win in this scenario? Acts of charity and love were thwarted while at the same time Joe is being accused of being uncharitable whether he acts or not. This is exactly how Satan and his demons operate. He accuses people of evil deeds that Satan himself is guilty of. This is diabolical.
To summarize, what we are witnessing with The Virus and the reaction to it is truly of a diabolical nature because individuals are told not to perform good acts, which include charitable works, participating in the economy, worshiping God publicly, educating children, visiting the lonely, helping the poor, etc. because if you do you are a murderer. Satan whispers in our ear, “Your good intentions and works are actually evil, so don’t do them.” The good is actually bad, he tells us. If you stay home and do nothing as you are told, no good comes from that. Either way, no good, but only bad results.
This is how I know The Virus and the reaction to it is straight from hell and is not just a neutral force of nature or even a positively willed chastisement from God. Can you think of any catastrophe or crisis or pandemic in history where healthy people have been prohibited by law to stop engaging others in society, to stop worshiping God, to stop performing acts of mercy because that is the bad and uncharitable thing to do? God would never cause a chastisement that was necessarily designed to force people into either performing evil acts or refusing to act out of charity.
In a sane society governed by virtue, where the rule of law and adherence to the Gospels prevails, no citizen like Joe America in the example above would ever have to choose between being accused of being a murderer and performing simple acts of love, charity and kindness. But that’s the choice millions are faced with now every day, not just in America, but on a global basis. Truly, the demonically fueled Great Reset has staked a claim.
So, what can we as individuals do about this apparent no-win situation we find ourselves in? While we cannot hope to outwit the devil himself, who is far superior in guile and intelligence than us, I believe the answer is to always turn back to the Truth. Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me” (John 14:6). Thus, if we read the passage in The Apocalypse after the verse quoted at the beginning of this essay, it reads,
“They conquered him [the Accuser] by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony; love for life did not deter them from death.” The Apocalypse 12:11.
Practically, how is this response with Truth going to look? The first thing to recognize is where the falsehood in the devil’s catch-22 exists. The lie is in the false accusation itself. Satan tells us that if we perform our duties in life and perform acts of love towards others, we are murderers. We must not accept that premise. Murder always requires intent. Most Americans would never intentionally put their brothers in sisters in harm’s way to perform good acts. The idea that you are a murderer or killer or even a reckless human being with no thought for others because you want to participate in society, worship God and engage in acts of charity is simply NOT TRUE. You know that—the devil knows that too. It’s a lie. Don’t fall for that.
Secondly, we must not refrain from at least trying to perform our God given assigned duties in life and acts of charity towards others. We may suffer obstacles or even suffer greatly in order to do so. But that comes with the territory of being a Christian. Fighting as a warrior for Christ is not easy business. He likes to see us work for it. We must do it, and not count the costs.
Third, while acting with prudence (i.e. don’t walk into a nursing home coughing up a lung and shaking everyone’s hand—but most people would not have done that before COVID anyway), we must remember that life involves risk. Our participation in society, carrying out our God given duties, necessarily means taking on risk and potentially affecting the lives of others. Do not abandon God’s commands and always act with virtue. By doing that, you cannot go wrong and God will reward you for it. Sitting at home, cowering in fear of being called a murderer or uncharitable, while failing to perform your duties and live by God’s commands to love God and thy neighbor, most certainly is not the answer.
Beyond that, how we respond to this situation on a cultural and political level, I think is still up in the air. Obviously, everyone must pray and fast. Continue to pray for answers, I know I will. As ideas develop, I will post them on this blog.
