Are you a legal and political history enthusiast looking for detailed, substantive, and objective content that is faithful to traditional Catholicism without the wokeness of the modern progressive left, or the taint of classical liberalism so often found in mainstream conservative/libertarian outlets?
If written and audio content that explores constitutional law, monarchy, feudalism, Church history, American history and European history piques your interest, please check out this new legal history project that just launched this week.
The American Vendée Institute at americanvendee.org is a legal history project dedicated to exploring the United States of America’s legal history and its place within the broader tradition of Western Christendom. This is an ongoing project, which will be updated on a regular basis.
Part of this new venture includes the Crowns & Constitutions Podcast, which will take a deeper dive into the Christian monarchical legal order of the Middle Ages with the goal of shedding more light on America’s founding principles and legal claims.
The initial series of episodes will cover the Great Charter, the Magna Carta, when England’s King John was forced to agree to terms with his barons in 1215 A.D. This series will involve covering all the necessary background you need to thoroughly understand the Magna Carta, including discussions on Roman law, feudal law, military conquests, nobility, monarchs, and the Church’s role in medieval society. These different strands of fascinating history will be pulled together to show what the Magna Carta really is without ideological baggage and how it fits into the bigger picture of post-enlightenment revolutionary politics out of which America was born.
I encourage everyone to sign up on the website for updates and/or subscribe to the podcast on Apple Podcast, Spotify, or BluBrry
