“Our country’s gone to hell, in a handbasket.” “That’s not what we fought for.”
The words of a 100-year-old veteran who has the unique advantage of witnessing the fruits of his labor and those of his comrades’ decades now in the past.
This year on Independence Day in the United States, should we be celebrating that revolt against the King of England in 1776 or perhaps preparing both our minds and hearts for something else given the direction this nation is heading?
Rather than a more academic discussion like I did last year on the real meaning of John Locke and Thomas Jefferson’s false “Nature’s God” version of Christianity, this year’s post will be a more passionate plea from the heart.
What Are We Really Celebrating?
This nation, the United States of America, is a shell of its former self. Most people will not deny that. There are a lot of reasons for that. Let me briefly summarize.
The nation itself was founded on false principles and ideas that rejected the Kingship of Jesus Christ. Naturally, there is no way this nation could last or achieve real greatness without acknowledging and bending our knee as a nation to Christ. We did not just fail to honor Him, we outright rejected Him as a nation.
Whatever moral authority this nation had is now trashed. The testimony of this veteran in the video makes that painfully clear. With the sexual revolution, legalized abortion, destruction of marriage and the family, etc…the list goes on and on.
It would be wrong to conclude that those charged with shepherding the Church and the nation through turmoil are innocent in all of this. The Roman Catholic hierarchy abandoned the faithful and succumbed to the modern world. I mean they literally held a Council (Vatican II) designed for the purpose of adopting the explicit and implicit principles of Americanism, a condemned heresy.
And now we have establishment Catholic media continue this misguided custom every year on July 4th trying to show how American Catholics really are and how Catholic America really is with this absolutely absurd notion that the Founding Fathers in America were really crypto Catholics. By the way, Ryan Grant did a great job of refuting this baseless legend that still gets traction every year as American Catholics try to bend the faith to meet their secular religious dogmas.
Of course, we now have homosexual priest predators, bubble and balloon Masses, guitar playing hippie priests, heretics like Cardinal Cupich in the highest ranks of the Church, and the persecution of the Church’s Tradition by those who are supposed to be her chief protectors. Thanks to the arch-heresy of Modernism, of which Americanism is a subpart, the Bride of Christ has been infiltrated and needs to be purified. As a result, the nation lost its best hope for leadership and moral authority to combat the evil we see every day now.
The list could go on, and all these catastrophes contributed to the breakdown of a nation that should have been great, that should have been Catholic, and that should have given honor to Our Lord and Lady.
Think about it, what this 100-year-old veteran saw in his life, the deaths he witnessed…the carnage. To look back now and to have the opportunity to witness what became of the nation he spilled blood, sweat and tears for. It makes one question whether longevity is a blessing or a curse.
Maybe he thinks none of it was worth it now. If those who lost their lives in World War II knew that we would be slaughtering unborn babies, marrying homosexuals, forcing drugs down the throat of young children to force them into becoming the opposite sex, parading our daughters all over the media like prostitutes for millions to view in the name of liberty and freedom, would they still have sacrificed their lives for this?
Let’s go back further in time. Does King George III sound so bad now, when the government not only is taxing our tea, but forcing men, women and children to jab themselves with abortion-tainted poison, stripping away the fruit of legitimate labor through an income tax, while using monetary policy to steal the labor of millions of future Americans to pay for cheap worthless consumer goods from Communist China?
I realize the United Kingdom is no better off today than we are as they also bent the knee to the Great Reset. However, one must wonder: but for the United States of America and the culture we spread around the globe as a world leader, would the other European nations today be in the same position?
What the hell has this place become? Or better yet, where in hell is this place going?
Video of Distraught 100-Year-Old Veteran
Now, watch the video of that veteran. Whether he is Catholic or not, you can see so clearly the heart-felt pain this man suffers from every day because of what this nation has become. Or perhaps he realizes what this nation has always been?
Regardless, can you imagine the disappointment and horror this man holds in his heart every single day as he watches the generations after him not just squander but s**t on everything his 100 years of life stood for, or at least he thought stood for. It’s hard to imagine what level of pain this must cause a soul. Perhaps worse than anything he saw on the battlefields of a world war.
If I could ask this gentleman a question, the first one I would ask is given this situation we find ourselves in now, what should we do?
Is it Really Hopeless?
I did not wake up this morning with the goal in mind to ruin your holiday or the celebration of the birthday of the United States. This is my feeble attempt to light a fire under all of us with a counter-revolutionary spirit on a day when most Americans will be soaking in pro-revolutionary propaganda.
Is it really hopeless? No, not at all. Because Christ is still King and He rules this nation, and all nations, regardless of whether all or just a few recognize this reality. Remember, Truth is never subject to majority opinion. Very counter-revolutionary, indeed.
It seems to me that for us, those who by God’s grace have a few more years left, we must embark on our own mission or crusade for our own times. Is it really to restore what this nation used to be? Probably not. I mean let’s be honest, it was mired in Freemasonry, Protestantism, moral evil, and rejection of Christ’s Kingship from day one at least to some degree. That’s why we are in the place we are now.
Or, perhaps better yet, is it to fight for what this nation should have been all along? Unlike 1776, this fight is not going to be a military one but a cultural and spirtual one because the stakes are much higher.
Wouldn’t it be nice for this veteran to know that there are some folks out there who get it? Maybe we didn’t fight in battle next to him, but we can at least acknowledge that the America we are celebrating today is not really the America that should be?
When we go before Christ at our particular judgment, will we be able to honestly say we fought the good fight—not for Freemasonic pantheism, demonic perversion and evil, and not for King George, but for THE King?
Our Lady of America, pray for us. Our Lady of Guadalupe, Empress of the Americas, pray for us.
